Kansas City Trash Collection Delay for New Year’s Day 2025

Residential trash and recycling collection in Kansas City, Kansas will be delayed by one day. This will occur during the week of New Year’s Day 2025. This information is according to the Unified Government.

Because Waste Management (WM) will not collect on Wednesday, January 1, pickup days will shift as follows:

  • Wednesday routes → Thursday, January 2
  • Thursday routes → Friday, January 3
  • Friday routes → Saturday, January 4

Residents are reminded to place their items at the curb or street edge by 6 a.m. on their adjusted collection day.

Until February 1, 2025, residents should continue reporting trash and recycling issues through 3-1-1. After that date, customer service responsibilities will transfer directly to WM. More details about the transition are available at wycokck.org/Waste.
