Turner USD 202 leaders are welcoming families back with a message of encouragement and a reminder of the district’s commitment to “Raise the Bar… Higher” in 2025-26.
According to Superintendent Dr. Jason Dandoy and Board of Education President Theresa Rangel, the new school year builds on last year’s theme of raising expectations for students, staff, and the entire community.
“Our students deserve the best education available, and in return, benefit us all by making Turner an amazing place to be proud of for many years to come,” the leaders wrote in a joint message.
This summer, a large group of community members, staff, parents, and students worked together to shape the district’s 2025-2030 Strategic Plan. The new plan introduces updated mission and vision statements, as well as five-year goals in areas such as academic rigor, building improvements, and student attendance. Quarterly video updates and the full plan are available on the district’s website.
Attendance remains a major priority for the district. “Students who are not in school are missing valuable instruction and social interaction,” the message noted. Families are encouraged to partner with teachers and principals to support consistent attendance.
The message also included a reminder for drivers to use extra caution as students return in early August. Passing a stopped school bus with its stop arm extended is illegal and puts children at risk.
Dr. Dandoy and Rangel thanked the community for its continued support. “We look forward to a great school year and are excited to ‘Raise the Bar… Higher’ in our community.”
