Kansas City Suspends Residential Burning Due to High Winds

The Unified Government has announced a temporary suspension of open residential burning in Kansas City, Kansas. The suspension remains in effect until Tuesday, April 15, at 7 a.m.

The Kansas City, Kansas Fire Department announced the suspension. It is due to high winds forecasted by the National Weather Service. These conditions are expected on Sunday, April 13, and Monday, April 14. Wind speeds are expected to exceed safe limits for controlled outdoor burning.

Residents are asked to delay any open burning until conditions improve.
