Promotion places longtime prosecutor in a top leadership role within the Wyandotte County District Attorney’s Office.
The Wyandotte County District Attorney’s Office has promoted Deputy District Attorney Njeri Mwangi to serve as chief deputy district attorney.
The office said Mwangi has built a strong record of service to the Wyandotte County community and has shown a steady commitment to justice, integrity, and public safety. During her time as a deputy district attorney, she prosecuted a wide range of complex cases and became known as a skilled litigator, a thoughtful leader, and a dedicated public servant.
In her new role, Mwangi will help oversee daily operations within the office, provide leadership on prosecutorial priorities, and support the professional development of assistant district attorneys and staff.
A spokesperson for the District Attorney’s Office said she will also help guide efforts in community engagement, transparency, and equitable justice.
The promotion places Mwangi in a key leadership position as the office continues its work in Wyandotte County.
