Mayor Garner’s Final State of the Government Address

Kansas City, Kansas Mayor Tyrone Garner will deliver his final State of the Government Address on Tuesday, December 2. The event will take place at Memorial Hall. The Unified Government (UG) stated that the event is hosted by the Kansas City, Kansas Rotary Club. This organization has planned this annual address since the 1960s.

The program will take place from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the main auditorium at Memorial Hall, located at 600 North 7th Street. Mayor Garner will reflect on his four years in office. He will then share the stage with Mayor Elect Christal Watson. Mayor Elect Watson will offer remarks about her vision for Wyandotte County and Kansas City, Kansas.

Community members are invited to attend, connect with local leaders, and hear updates on the work of the UG. Tickets are available through Eventbrite, with single tickets priced at $65.87 (plus a $5.87 fee), which includes a meal and a reserved seat. Tables for eight are available for $504.04 (plus a $34.04 fee) and include signage and reserved seating. While the Rotary Club is listed as the host, the UG did not provide details on how revenue from ticket or table sales will be used.

For residents who want to attend without purchasing a meal, free arena style seating will be open to the public. Registration is still required through the Eventbrite link. All arena guests will be able to see and hear the full presentation.
