The Unified Government of Wyandotte County and Kansas has announced something important. Applications for the 2025 Hollywood Casino Fund Grant program will open Saturday, March 1.
The Unified Government reports that the program supports the goals of Healthy Communities Wyandotte. It does this by funding initiatives that encourage healthy eating and active living. Grants are administered in partnership with the Greater Kansas City Community Foundation.
In 2024, grant awards ranged from $500 to $24,000, with an average award of $6,000. In 2025, applicants are encouraged to propose projects that are culturally relevant. Their projects should increase community knowledge. They should also improve access to healthy food or promote physical activity through local infrastructure use. There are no restrictions on the minimum or maximum grant size.
Grant Information Session
An optional virtual information session will be held Tuesday, March 5, at 10 a.m. Registration is now open, and a recording will be available afterward on the Unified Government’s website.
