Trash and Recycling Collection Suspended in Kansas City, Kansas Until Next Week

According to Waste Management (WM), Tuesday’s route will be completed today and tomorrow. However, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday service will be suspended until next week.

Unlike many cities, trash in Kansas City, Kansas, is collected manually. Officials noted that the severe cold makes it difficult for crews to safely and efficiently complete their routes.

Waste Management Customer Service
As of February 1, WM handles all residential trash and recycling customer service directly. Residents with service concerns should contact WM through one of the following options:

  • Visit WM.com – Register for 24-hour account access. Residents will need their Customer ID, which WM has mailed to households.
  • Download the My WM Mobile App – Available on Android and iOS for on-the-go access. A Customer ID is required for setup.
  • Call WM – Speak with a representative at 1-800-796-9696.

Residents who have not received a Customer ID should call WM for assistance. Additional information, FAQs, and service tips can be found at wycokck.org/Waste.
