The Unified Government of Wyandotte County and Kansas has announced that all UG offices will remain closed Wednesday, Feb. 19, due to anticipated severe weather.
According to the Unified Government, offices closed early at 3 p.m. Tuesday and will reopen at 8 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 20. Services will remain available remotely, and residents can continue to report issues through the 3-1-1 Call Center, which operates 24/7.
Service Impacts
- District Court: In-person hearings scheduled for Feb. 19 will be rescheduled. Remote hearings may still proceed at the discretion of the assigned judge. Residents should contact the court division directly for updates.
- Municipal Court: The Kansas City, Kansas Municipal Court will be closed Feb. 19. All cases scheduled that day will be continued, with notices mailed later in the week. On Feb. 20, the court will open at 10 a.m. Morning dockets will be continued, while the 1 p.m. docket will proceed as scheduled. For questions, email kckmunicourt@wycokck.org or call 913-573-5200.
- Trash & Recycling: Service for Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday (Feb. 19–21) has been suspended until next week.
- Transit: Riders should expect delays of up to one hour on Feb. 19. Residents can sign up for text, email, or voice notifications through RideKC Notify.
- Cold Weather Shelter: The KCK Cold Weather Shelter, 550 State Avenue, will open at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 18, and remain open until 7 a.m. Wednesday.
